My Story.
film photography ROOTS
I’m James Fox, the Photographer behind SilverFox Photography and SilverFox Weddings.
My passion for photography started at the age of 16, with a Canon film camera. My Grandfather and Uncle were both prolific photographers, and it seemed to run in the family.
In the early years I focused on fine art landscapes, particularly around the U.K. We have a wealth of beautiful places in this country, and it got me travelling. Eventually I upgraded to a digital camera, like most, due to their convenience and lower cost.

But, around the same time, I felt that something was missing from my landscape work, Life!
Landscapes seemed to come alive with people in them, helping to define their context. Without realising it, I’d started my journey into portraiture and wedding photography.
As I developed my work something still wasn’t sitting right with me. The colours of my digital camera seemed less rich, and felt sometimes too unforgiving for portraits, and I didn’t relish hours on the computer trying to make them right.
How could I get that nostalgic film photography look I used to love, without the cost & complexity of using actual film?
